Bheemana Amavasya Vrata Katha
Once upon a time, there was a woman named Draupadi who was married to five Pandavas. One day, Draupadi’s husband, Yudhishthira, lost all of his wealth in a gambling match. As a result, the Pandavas were forced to go into exile.
While they were in exile, Draupadi was kidnapped by a demon named Bakasura. Bakasura was a cruel demon who would eat one person every day. Draupadi was terrified, but she knew that she had to find a way to save herself.
One day, Draupadi was praying to Lord Shiva when she had a vision. In the vision, Lord Shiva told Draupadi that she would be able to defeat Bakasura if she observed a vrat on the Amavasya in the month of Ashada.
Draupadi followed Lord Shiva’s instructions and observed the vrat. On the day of the vrat, Draupadi prayed to Lord Shiva and asked for his help. Lord Shiva was pleased with Draupadi’s devotion and he appeared before her.
Lord Shiva told Draupadi that he would help her defeat Bakasura. He gave her a sword and told her to use it to kill the demon. Draupadi took the sword and went to face Bakasura.
Bakasura was a powerful demon, but Draupadi was determined to defeat him. She fought bravely and eventually she was able to kill the demon.
After Bakasura was killed, Draupadi returned to the Pandavas. They were overjoyed to see her and they thanked her for saving them. Draupadi told them about the vrat that she had observed and she told them that it was Lord Shiva who had helped her defeat Bakasura.
The Pandavas were so grateful to Lord Shiva that they decided to celebrate the Amavasya in the month of Ashada. They called it Bheemana Amavasya Vrat and they began to observe it every year.
