The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently unveiled the fixtures list for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, set to take place in India. The tournament will span across 46 days, commencing on October 5 and culminating in the final on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The World Cup will kick off with an exciting opening match between England and New Zealand, a repeat of the 2019 Final, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The host nation, India, will commence their campaign on October 8 against the five-time World Cup champions, Australia, in Chennai.

A total of 10 teams will participate in this showcase event, with the first eight teams already qualifying through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The remaining two spots will be determined at the conclusion of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe on July 9.

The format of the tournament will follow a round-robin system, where each team will compete against the other nine teams. The top four teams from the group stage will qualify for the knockout stage and compete in the semi-finals.

In addition to the captivating opening encounter between England and New Zealand, there are several other notable fixtures throughout the tournament. Australia will face South Africa on October 13 in Lucknow, hoping to reverse the outcome of their dramatic encounter in the last edition. The highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is scheduled for October 15 in Ahmedabad, recalling their high-scoring encounter in the 2019 World Cup.

Other key matches include Pakistan taking on Australia in Bengaluru on October 20, England facing South Africa in Mumbai on October 21, and India seeking redemption against New Zealand on October 22 in Dharamsala. Australia will also face their rivals England on November 4 in Ahmedabad, aiming to avenge their defeat from four years ago.

The group stage will conclude with England and Pakistan facing off in Kolkata on November 12. The knockout stages will then begin, with the first semi-final scheduled for November 15 in Mumbai, followed by the second semi-final the next day in Kolkata. The final match will take place on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with November 20 allocated as the reserve day.

The tournament will be hosted across ten venues in India: Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata. Additionally, warm-up matches will be held in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, alongside Hyderabad, from September 29 to October 3.
